Random Tuesday Thoughts

This fun blog hop brought to you by "The Un Mom", head over and check out her super cool graphics.

--------------------------
- While all the cool kids were attending BlogHer, I was home with newborn and attending a Twitter party called #notgoingtoblogher

I didn't win any of the prizes, but at 9pm on a Friday I was at a party! Woohoo - right?

--------------------------
- Speaking of Twitter, it's kinda like having a one way conversation with the world. I've noticed even popular Twitter'ers don't get much feedback on their Tweets (I almost said Twits, sounds better in my head). So I've recently Tweeted about child birth until I got too distracted by the contractions to use my iPhone anymore, then hospital stay, then recovery at home, mostly about surviving the night time feedings. I think it's more for future me to look back on and remember the specifics so I can plan better. Yeah I like to leave myself clues.

--------------------------
- Husband and I have finally settled on a mini van and we are finalizing everything today. It's white with gray interior - boy have we ever settled! Can't get any more vanilla than white on gray - but the price is great, mileage is low and husband is bursting with custom retro fitting ideas. I guess it's a win win win when you look at it that way.

--------------------------
- I'm almost out of percoset, 2 left. I guess this means I'm getting better although it's definitely helped with the last 12 days healing from giving birth and breast feeding, which is an extremely painful and time consuming activity. I'm all for pain meds to mask the pain until my body get's numb enough to take it but no baby needs an addicted mommy so my prescription is almost out with no reason to refill it.

--------------------------
I must conclude this post, Sam is having a hiccuping fit, which means he will want to eat again, one hour after the last meal because he thinks all discomfort can be solved with food.

Oh and if I leave a really short comment on your blog it's because I'm typing with 1 hand.

Hey, there's nothing wrong with a white/grey combo, it's the grey/grey combo (oops, that's what I have).
I wanted to go to BlogHer after hearing all about it last year (even with the chaos and problems), but just didn't have as much of an interest as the time got closer.
I'm typing with one hand too...but it's because I'm eating cereal. :)
Oh my goodness, it's almost been two weeks!

That's why I don't seem to be able to Twitter. It's so lonely. That and the fact that I'm too damned long winded to condense my thoughts to a sentence or two.

Ooh. New baby fun. Shouldn't you be sleeping instead of tweeting and blogging?

Cool you got to party, lol. Even better you got to do it from home.

I love to party in my pj's.

I'm kinda intimidated by Twitter--I'm not sure I want to invest the time--blogging takes enough time for me. Congrats on your new additions--the baby and the van.

Congrats on the vehicle purchase. If it makes you feel better, there's at least one more person that didn't make it to BlogHer...me. Wish I could've but expenses had to be distributed elsewhere.

Not on the twitter band wagon either... like I need another internet/technology distraction.

Congrats on the van!

I don't get lots of feedback on my tweets. Every once in a while someone replies. It's kinda like talking to my kids... when they say something back I actually feel like they were listening.

I love twitter, when I'm bored, it's something I can do easily.

I took Percoset after 3 of my wisdom teeth were pulled, my jaw was very thankful (one of them was impacted). I had withdrawals from morphine after the hospital gave it to me through an iv for almost 2 weeks, so I worry about taking too much pain meds as well.

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Try to get some sleep while you can!

The pain with breastfeeding gets worst with each child my mother warned me. And she was right. I can't imagine how it would be after five. Her description wasn't fun. ugh! I know that I took more meds after each. Especially when I was nursing.

Congrats on the new van. Just remember, the lighter your car, the less it attracts heat. In southern FL, that might just be the thing. Boring, sorta, but I am sure you will think of a way to spice it up!

Hi Amanda - maybe some day we can get a group together and meet up at blogher, until then I'm happy with getting to know people through their blogs. Oooh, maybe someday they will just put it in Miami???

Hi Gretchen - I love your name, I'm so glad I'm not the only one who doesn't get Twitter!

Hi Rachele - Yes I SHOULD be sleeping more! I really should.

Thanks VandyJ!

Thanks Terra H, we'll make it to Blogher some day - I hope!

Thanks Amy LK!

Thanks Rumour!

Hi Christina - nice of you to stop by, looks like Twitter is really more of a one way conversation after all!

Hi Silver Star - I've heard morphine is highly addictive and Percoset is after 3 weeks so I stopped middle of 2nd week and haven't felt the need to use it yet.

Hi CWB - I thought it was supposed to get easier with the next child? I just assumed the previous kid had worn down them down or something!!!

The pain gets easier after some time. But, right after birth, the nursing makes contraction-like pain in the abdomen hurt like the dickens! With time it will get better. Not long, but it just takes a little time. With #3, it hurt with each feeding for a few weeks. It hurt the worst at the hospital. I had to ask for meds just before a nursing to get through it. Otherwise, I was in mortal pain!!

Is your pain breast pain or abdominal pain? Now, could it be that Sam is not latched on right? Baby #2 or #3 was not latching on right (I think #3). Had to get that corrected real quick! :) Many blessings on your nursing. I think it's AWESOME that you nursing and work out of home too. That takes some dedication and determination to make that work!! :)
