Strange week continues

Yes another post about 2nd pregnancy with lots of medical terms!

This morning I went back to my OB/GYN and retook the fetal fibronectin test. Around noon got a call saying it was positive - queue total disbelief! I seriously thought they were all getting too keyed up about nothing.

My mom left this afternoon and I couldn't take her to the airport since I had to immediately schedule an afternoon appointment with Dr. Risky who for once had nothing but calm and good news - cervix looks good, no contractions, no water has broken so she's not worried. Also, it turns out baby boy is 5lbs 1oz a day before I start 33 weeks! Scary thought, if I go full term he could get up to 9lbs - considering I gave birth to a petite 5lb 7oz little girl the first time I'm a little concerned but let's just get through the next 3 weeks without giving birth then I'll start freaking out about a big baby. One freak out at a time!

So I'm officially on "light" bed rest meaning no house work. I can loll around on the internet, watch TV and am not allowed to do any housework! I've been advised to stop doing yoga and morning 2 mile walk for at least two weeks so we can get closer to the magic 35 week zone.

So party on Garth, party on Wayne. I got my feet up and I'm taking it easy!!

I've forgotten...what is the fetal fibronectin test for? What are they worried about besides early labor?

Enjoy the unexpected rest!

It's a test that is supposed to give a 50/50 chance that you will go into labor in the next two weeks. I think that's all they are worried about at this point. Otherwise I've had no health problems!

Doing my best to not drive husband crazy with all the "rest"!

Keep praying. That baby will come when the Lord knows is the best even when we think he needs four more weeks (or whatever). I am so excited for you and Mike that you getting this close to meeting your new baby. Love you!
