Working Mom Wednesday

Linking to Work, Wife,Mom...Life! for Working Mommy Wednesday. For this week the prompts are:
  • What do you consider necessary to get through the day? (items, routines, coffee, etc.)
  • What do you do on your commute to work - listen to the radio, enjoy peace and quiet, etc.
Necessities:
Shower first, I cannot function without a shower. Breakfast second and I'm talking a full meal - eggs, Canadian bacon, juice, tea or coffee, fruit on top of plain yogurt and toast.

During the day I require 10am snack, lots of water, I almost always pack a lunch to save money and preferably coffee and chocolate at 3pm. I have a wonderful intern who makes latte's almost every day, he's a saint!

Commute to work:
It's 15 minutes and I listen to NPR.

Sorry this was so short! It's actually late Tuesday night, almost midnight and I'm SKYPE'ing to boss who is visiting China and co-workers in Vietnam while writing this. A little bleary eyed. Looking forward to reading everyone's WMW blogs on Wednesday because you are all so descriptive and interesting!!!

Too funny...I always have a 10am snack usually fruit and a 2 or 3pm sweet snack attack!

I am a stay at home mom, but I get a lot of this too. The 10 o'clock cravings for a snack, the 3 o'clock cravings for chocolate.

I also love my morning showers. I've got to have comfy clothes that aren't dumpy and very comfy shoes to walk the three sets of stairs that are in my house. I need three square meals a day with some snacks to get me by. And lots of water.

When I get in the car by myself, it's blasted with something. Radio or my favorite CD. I am always looking for or practicing my next karaoke song for my girls' nights out.

Gotta have breakfast...I can do cereal if its a sort day, but I have to have a bigger breakfast on a long day...plus I keep a stash of snacks at work and in my backpack. :P

That is so not Canadian bacon...you really need to come visit and have the real stuff. ;)
As for the 3 p.m. chocolate fix...first day of school yesterday and I didn't even make it to 3...and told the students I was going to eat a piece of chocolate...in front of them. I let food in my room so this really wasn't a taunt, so much as a fact. :)

NPR rocks, and skyping to your boss in China and blogging? Hello, multi-tasker. I'm impressed. I can barely hold a conversation and cook.

Sounds like you have a great routine. I am likewise jealous of that intern! I'm also finding that 3pm chocolate is key.

I like the 3pm chocolate! I think I do the same thing but never thought about it until now. I'm jealous of your breakfast so maybe you could come cook for me.? lol!! My bagel is sounding less appetizing now.

Not a chocolate girl myself, but on particularly stressful days at the office I get a gummy candy craving around that time and pop down to the store in our building for an impulse buy of fuzzy peaches or something similar.

Like others have said, send your intern my way! I have a coworker though, and we have started making fancy coffee together in the morning in our little office kitchen - complete with cinnamon on top - it's a nice ritual and I hope we continue.

Also - bummed I missed WMW - I'm going to really have to try to make it next week!
