Random Tuesday Thoughts

Stacy

I really think Paris might be my new favorite city, sorry London! Paris has you beat on food!!!

I can't think of a better way to start the day then with Pain au Chocolat (chocolate croissants) and Café Au Lait! Add a little glass jar of plain yogurt and it's the perfect breakfast. Add no meetings until 3pm so I can sleep in, take an hour long bath in the morning then have said breakfast and I'm feeling quite happy.

Would it be too much to order a few more chocolate croissants? I don't think so!!! And what a classy hotel for not even making me sign a receipt! I've always wondered about the real point of that, just put it on my final bill!! Finally a hotel that "gets me"!!

My only regret is not brushing up on my French before coming - somewhere in the two weeks between our last road trip and this trip! I've found that English really isn't spoken here and I should have at least put the basics to memory. So if I ever come back alone, without boss who speaks French, I'll definitely have to remember to brush up on my French!

Finally, speaking of random, yesterday as we returned to our hotel on the train, a young guy stepped onto the train with a boom box playing Micheal Jackson's song "Billie Jean". He proceeded to dance like MJ for about 10 minutes before getting off the train. People mostly ignored him. I thought it was cool to see a young guy passionate enough about his art that he's willing to perform in the most random of places.

Sounds like heaven! Princess Nagger says when she's rich and not-so-famous, she'll take me to Paris. ;) glad you're having a great time - and kudos to the guy who danced on the train without a care in the world! :)

When we went to France, we saw a lot of performers of that sort... some of which weren't even looking for money. Just doing their thang. Happy RTT.

It's not too late to use French. Just learn the basics - hello, good bye, thank you, please, where are the bathrooms...most French that you'll encounter will speak English, too, but they appreciate the effort. If you use the words you know, they will know you aren't French but are trying, and they will be kind. This is tourist season and they HATE tourists who think the world should speak their language, and most tourists are from US and England.

I'm drooling at the idea of real Pain au Chocolat (my local grocer actually has some pretty good ones, but not the same I'm sure!).
Sounds like a pretty great way to start your day...and not meeting until 3...wow!
If you like honey...go find yourself some Lavender Honey. It's yummy! That's the only thing I wanted my parents to bring me back...they ended up finding it in a health food store.
Can't wait for more updates! :)
