Costumes

One of the things I've most looked forward to as a mom is costumes. This weekend she made my dream come true with her own imagination (ie. no prompting from me).

Husband is originally from Texas and during our recent visit bought a new cowboy hat and wore it for the trip home. In our first day back, baby girl disappeared into our bedroom and came out wearing his new cowboy hat. We both did heart flips and chased her around the house with a camera.

Today she dragged my straw hat out of it's box and pranced around the house in it while holding a purse made of crushed velvet with brass closure (a gift from a friend in Hong Kong).

I'm so excited that I want to bring out all the hats and hang them on hooks in her room at a baby's height so she can try on hats whenever she wants.

I've got a small collection of pretty things that I've saved for a little girl. This has got to be one of the happiest days yet!

i 100% agree with you! we are very keen dresser-uppers in this house. no diamante tiara is a sparkle too far. (and i think we can get away with it more with girls, which only adds to my mischievous delight!)

This is wonderful! I actually started a dress up box that has grown over time with scarves and old dresses and hats and dress up clothes. My kids are into it almost every day and wear what they've found everywhere. :)

Cute!
Daughter one is super girly and loves all pink, purple, lace, bows, dresses, shoes, purses, and little trinkets to put in said purses. I have noticed her little sis eying up those purses. She steals her older sis's purses if she think big sis isn't looking. LOL!
