1st grade
Grit just wrote something that reminded me of my childhood baking pies and canning food all summer with my mom and two brothers. My mom is a first grade teacher and she taught me in first grade. I have very vivid memories of kindergarten (it's where I told my first lie) but I barely remember first grade. I wonder, do moms give us such a cozy security blanket that we forget things?

I think that probably the mum security blanket thing is spot on. I would definitely wrap both mine up in cotton wool if I was able (and if it wouldn't result in yet more cries of 'I'm itching!' in the middle of the night...). As for being absent minded - well would love to chat about that but I think I left the iron on.
PS - Charlotte looks gorgeous in all those recent photos, btw!
i've wondered about this, because despite protecting mine as much as possible from jessie of 3G, i actually believe my kidlets should experience more risk than I give them, and that risk should be from other children, rather than falling out of apple trees. hmmm. i will continue to ponder this one.
PM - thanks for the lovely comments!
Grit - interesting way of putting it, risk from other children. Will look forward to any further thoughts on this.
