The Crash

The first full day my mom was here I crashed hard. Something about mom being here put my overactive and overachieving mind at a standstill. My body suddenly ached from head to toe and I slept alot - well as much as one can with regular checks on baby and breast pumping/feeding. Feeling much better today.

SB! Congratulations on the early arrival of Charlotte Marie (what a pretty name, btw). My first was early too - not as early as Charlotte, only 3 weeks - but I got caught out by the waters breaking thing and unpacked bag too. It's quite a shock, I remember; I was convinced my babies were both going to be on time, and they were both early. As one of the doctors at the time said; you just bake them quickly...

Hope you are feeling well, don't push yourself to do too much, however much you want to, and once again congratulations!

PS - if you need a little help to 'heal', as recommended by my midwife, put 4 drops of tea tree oil, 4 drops lavender oil, and 4 of camomile oil in a cup of milk and then drop it into a warm bath. (Not sure it really helps but it sure smells good...)

Ahh! I am so glad that you finally took a break and slept! I wasn't so sure about the rushing off to see a movie and all. I chuckled a little. Glad to hear presence of mom made you spiral into a nap. I am sure that your body is thanking you. How are you and how is Charlotte and hubby all adjusting to Charlotte's arrival? I've been checking his blog out and he hasn't posted which tells me that he is too distracted by her to sit and type. :) However, I am glad that you are type or else I might not hear how things are going. I want to call... I am just not sure when is a good time. Hope all is well. Please call if you need to talk or some advise. I would be glad to help.

Oh I will see a movie - yes I will. the 2nd set of grandparents arrived today and took over all baby duties. I have no compunctions about leaving for an evening.

Mike has not been on the computer much. When he is not working, he's home taking care of baby and me. I'll let him know you are checking for updates.

Please feel free to call anytime of the day once family is gone. Your guess is as good as mine as to what is a good time. If I'm in the middle of feeding (self or baby) I'll let you know and we can rearrange a time.

Hey, if you can fit in a movie or other outside-the-house activity, good! I wasn't trying to judge. I just never seemed to think of doing anything like that and didn't know if it would work. But, good for you if you can. Take advantage of the opportunity while you can! :D

I hope that Mike is taking good care of himself too. Make sure he takes naps and gets his down time. Dads need that too.

Since I don't know when your mom and his folks are heading home, just write or call me to let me know. If you need me, I can't do anything else (bummer!) I can at least be your listening ear and wall to bounce your ideas off of. I still feel badly that you couldn't call me and ask for advise when you were in labor. :(

Hey, do you know when you are coming up north for a visit (shower)? I am going to be in "that" area August 1 to August 17 or so. Hopefully we can work something out.
