My boss likes to say dramatic, bizarre things to get attention. Earlier this week, we discussed a potential new client named Joy Toy and when the project manager entered the room he looks up and says, hi PM, we were just discussing my Joy Toy. He frequently share stories about his libido. We all ignore him.
Last night was no different. The discussion started with Director of Ops calling in to say he'd be late because he was waiting for wife to come home with the dry cleaning and meanwhile was playing a game of chase around the house with his daughter and was thus out of breath while calling. The PM who took the call merrily announced that he was running around his house naked which lead to a discussion of no, he was not running around naked with his 3 year old daughter, he's careful to stay dressed around them now that 3 & 4 year old are getting older. Boss tells him to stop being ridiculous. It's perfectly alright to be naked with children, in fact, he still showers with his 8 year old daughter and 4 year old son and will continue to do so until she decides she is uncomfortable with this situation. He then scolds everyone who does otherwise with their children.
Our European employee from Romania looks stricken and says nothing. He looks at her and says of all people I thought you would be accepting of family nudity. Her mouth just drops open and she babbles a story of how hard it is to keep her 3 year old son in clothes.
Senior designer tells boss his behavior is gross and he would never do such a thing.
I really don't know how we ever moved on from this topic but it seemed to hang over the table for a very long time.
I couldn't see his wife's face but I wonder what her opinion was in all this over sharing.

Wow.
Showering with an 8 year of the opposite sex.
I'm not sure what else to say to that...
Must have been an interesting party.
The verdict is in. Your boss is a perv. What is he doing with CHILDREN? Someone should turn him in. Is there no one to tell him that his behavior in the workplace is inappropriate? Wow.
A few jobs ago for hubby, the company had a swanky Christmas party at the country club. One year after we had already left, two ladies, one of which was drunk, maybe both, decided to compare breast size by baring them for all to see. Glad we had already left. Good grief!
I don't believe he is a Perv for the showering comment and I don't think he should be turned in. I believe he comes from a culture that embraces nudity and that's his business. I've known his daughter since she was born and I'm confident there is nothing disturbing about their relationship. Personally I come from the East/North part of America where puritan values are still strong and my family was incredibly modest. They didn't believe in "mixed bathing" which is boys/girls swimming together so I've grown up quite the prude but I still refuse to believe that everyone should live like I grew up. My post was written to illustrate the over sharing some folks do in a public setting.
