Break for walk with my two year old and dog

I'm not good at taking breaks, but today the little one cried when I tried to send her off with husband to pick up the others from school.  I looked around and it was such a pretty day, possibly the last for awhile since it's expected to dip into the 30's tonight.  So I pulled her out of the car seat and suggested a walk.

We've gotten very lazy since moving to Maryland.  We used to walk Chopper around the pond in Florida because we had to keep him on a leash in condo common areas and it was the only way to get through his bathroom breaks.  Now we just let him run into the fenced in backyard and come back when he's done.  So when I mentioned walk to him, he quite nearly did a summersault for joy!

Violette was determined to hold the leash and this brought back fond memories of when her equally determined sister would do this in FL.

Off we went, crunching through the leaves.  Chopper would stop to smell something and Vi would screech "chopper, CHOPPER, WALK!".

Such a pretty day.  I'm glad we took a little break, even if it meant extending my work hours beyond 6pm to finish up.
